the summer lake roles over my toes. i role my blue jeans up. the heat strikes my brow; sweat pours down my face. i take her by the hand, drift slowly into the mossy waters, waist deep, boat waves hit our chests. somewhere in the midst of thunderous claps and splashing water i hear her mother shout, "hallelujah!"

church construction . . .
a noon drizzle
baptizes the frame

Great work here, dustin. Since I can't visit every day, I'm catching up with the most recent six or seven, and you are doing first-rate work.
