Davy Crockett National Forest

The Davy Crockett National Forest, dark and unknown to my youth, opens her limbs to my hunting travels. The waking birds greet me with each step I take behind my grandfather, deeper and deeper into the pines. The scent of unknown wildlife enters my nose with each heavy breath I take in. I see no deer as the woods light up slowly. However, I don't go unnoticed this morning.

distant snort
after each stomp,
foggy sunrise
